Ghatshila and Galudih Travel Guide

Day 1: Reach Ghatshila by car or by train. Move to hotel then take some rest. In afternoon first visit Fuldungri Hill. People will talk high about Fuldungri Hill in Ghatsila. But believe me Fuldungri Hill will not enchant you. It is full of broken pieces of beer bottle. It is not maintained at all.Then visit Bibhuti Bhusan Bandhyopadhyay's House. Then vist to Ratmohona to watch Sunset. Ratmohona is the best place in ghatshila to watch sunset. Then again back to hotel and stay night in Ghatshila.

Day 2: Today in early morning visit Burudi Dam. Its a beautiful lake surrunded by jungle and hills. Then visit Dharagiri waterfall.Its a little fall with a small stream but you will definitly enjoy the rout through jungle aslo on the way to dharagiri you may enjoy local culture in Santal Village. Then in afternoon visit Galudih Lake. Then back to Ghatshila agin for night stay.

Day 3: Today in early morning visit Jadugora Rankini Mandir and Siddheswar Mandir then back to hotel take your lunch and get ready to leave Ghatshila.


How to reach :

By rail - It is a railway station on the Kharagpur-Tatanagar stretch of Howrah-Mumbai track, 215 km from Howrah are 2781/2782 Ispat Express, 8030/8029 Kurla/ Howrah Express, 2813/2814 Steel Express. It is well connected to 3 Metros in India namely Mumbai(by Bombay Express), Kolkata(many trains starting from 6AM by Steel Exp. to midnight at 1.15 by Samleshwari Exp) and New Delhi(by Neelachal & Utkal Exp).
There are many Local Passenger trains connecting Jamshedpur and Kharagpur with Ghatshila. For timings etc check with Indian Railways
By road – It is about 240 km from Kolkata. Those travelling from Kolkata first have to take NH 6 to Bahragora and then take the road to Jamshedpur. Buses plying between Kharagpur and Jamshedpur pass through Ghatshila. Buses going from Kolkata to Jamshedpur and Ranchi also pass through Ghatshila.By road Jamshedpur is 42 km away.

Get around: 
Auto will take 800-1200 for local sight seeing. Apart from auto cycle rickshaw is available to move around.

  • Galudih Resort Centre – 8 km from Ghatshila
  • Dharagiri - 10 km north of Ghatshila, there is a water fall 20 feet high.
  • Burudih Dam- 6 km north of Ghatsila
  • Jamshedpur – about 40 km
